WOTM 2023 Update

Hello everyone!
I hope you have all had a great start to year and are sticking to your New Years resolution of playing more board games in 2023 :)
As always we want to keep you all in the loop of what is happening with WOTM and our timeline. As hard as we tried to push unfortunately there was a last minute defect that our manufacturing company detected during QA. It was found that over half of the chef hats were stained. Please see picture below:
One of our core values at Boiling Point Games is that quality always comes first. We wouldn't feel right sending out the games to everyone if the quality was not up to our standards.
What does this mean?
Essentially this means there is a minimum of another month delay on getting the games from China to our distribution hubs. Chinese New Year starts on January 22nd and ends on February 5th. Basically all business stops during this period of time. Once business resumes we will have to source new chef hats, get them to our manufacturer and assemble. Once they have been assembled we can finally get the games out of China and over to our hubs. We already have everything set up to get the games onto the ship and through customs so that should be a painless process!
We are so sorry for the inconvenience and want nothing more than to get these games out to everyone! Once business resumes in February we will send out an updated timeline for game shipments.
As always please reach out if you have any questions/comments/concerns.
Thank you!

Hello Future Head Chefs!
We at Boiling Point Games wanted to take a moment and wish you all a very Happy Holidays! As always, we greatly appreciate your excitement for "what's on the Menu". We wouldn't have gotten this far without each and everyone one of you, and are so thankful for your support.
QUICK UPDATE:
As there are no major updates to share, we wanted to keep everyone in the loop of our current progress. We have approved the final production copy of the game and the manufacturer has been paid in full. They started final production last week and hope to have everything finished right after Christmas. In the meantime we are working with our shipping company on the logistics of shipping the games to the GAMEQUEST hubs in both the US and UK. We are getting close to the home stretch now!
In addition we have also been hard at work getting our Shopify store up and running. Check us out HERE. Once our games are officially on the boat heading to our shipping hubs we will open up the store for pre-orders.
As always if you have any questions/comments/concerns please don't hesitate to reach out.
Happy Holidays!

Milestone Alert!

Greetings Future Head Chefs,
BIG NEWS (as of yesterday) we have officially given the green light for mass production. Essentially this means that through various rounds of QA and material changes "What's on the Menu?" is up to Boiling Point Game standards and looks/feels like a product that we 100% can stand behind and be proud of.
It has been a long process, but the fun is just now beginning!
Timeline Update:
Based off our manufacturing companies rough timeline the games/add ons should be completed by mid December. Barring any delays with the holidays and transport to our US/UK hubs we estimate another roughly 8-10 weeks to arrive at the hubs. That puts us around mid February until we are ready to ship out to everyone!
As always we appreciate your patience and will continue to update everyone as the final timeline becomes more clear.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via email or any of our social platforms.

AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING....
Our first official PPC (Pre-production Copy) of What's on the Menu? has finally arrived! This is a huge milestone as it is the first official print copy that our manufacturer has made. This sample is meant as a first round QA check for us to ensure everything looks, feels and works as intended. All in all we couldn't be happier with the way things have turned out. There are a few minor changes we are going to make in regards to how the menu boards fold and the overall weight is a bit heaver than expected. Once our requested changes have been made, we will be sent the final PPC which we can then give our approval for mass production to begin! Here is a sneak peak at some of the components and boxes:
Incredible attention to detail!
Game board and Box Art - feel likes we're in the kitchen already!
Here is a preview of the inside of the menu board (with a completed menu just to get your creative juices flowing). Above you can see our first player meeple (chef hat) and round tracker (pepper grinder).
Here is our bottom box with the insert included. Everything fits perfect!
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
ActionCard (Red Text - pictured above as food poisoning) - In our first iteration, when you drew a red text action card, you performed the action and your turn ended. After several more round of playtesting we decided that you will no longer lose your turn after performing the action. You will get to choose again between a menu card or action card. You will see the recycle symbol (pictured above) on the card as your queue to take another turn.
Sneaky Chef - Another action card change after many rounds of playtests. A lot of players who visited us a Dice Tower West will remember that Sneaky Chef used to allow you to switch your entire menu with another chef of your choosing. After receiving a lot of feedback, we have decided to change Sneaky Chef into a prep phase action card. It now allows the player to pick up all the revealed menu cards for that turn, secretly select one of them and place the remaining cards back only face down this time. The round will continue as normal with the remaining players having to choose either a face down menu card or an action card.
PRODUCTIONTIMELINE
Our absolute first priority is making sure that we put out the best quality product we can, so we hope you understand and appreciate your continued patience. After changes to this first sample we should receive the second sample within 2-3 weeks. At this time most of the work is essentially out of our hands and into the hands of manufacturing. While we don't anticipate there will be a whole lot to report on in the next few months we will make sure to keep you all updated on any further developments. In the below image you can see a of what to expect over the next few months in regards to manufacturing and shipping:
